Otso Aavanranta is an omnidirectional researcher of all things sonic, based in Helsinki, Finland. His work combines musicianship, sound art and academic research into a multifaceted creative cluster.

A man of many faces and many places, he has lived and worked between Finland, Canada, Belgium and France, in addition to which he has toured around Europe as well as in U.S.A., Korea and India.

Intricate texture and nuance constitute the focal point of Otso’s sound aesthetics. He carefully crafts his patterns of sound and thought in between salient categories, in yet uncolonized territories.
