Nicoló Terrasi – Composer, Guitarist, Improviser
Italian musician born in Palermo, his artistic approach is split between the composition of instrumental, acousmatic, mixed music, the practice of free improvisation (Les partitions invisibles, Grand8 Ensemble), and research/creation on traditional music with the New Folk Sicilian Project.
Graduated in classical guitar at the Palermo Conservatory, he then perfected his skills as a performer at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, and in composition at the Conservatoire du XXe arr. of Paris and at the Conservatory of Marseille.
He develops educational projects around contemporary musical creation (Musica Plastica, commissioned by Gmem-cncm, Marseille) and visual and sound art workshops (Botanique Sonore, Zoologie Fantastique, Sans nom dit).
His music has been performed in Festivals such as Les Musiques, Reevox, Festival de Chaillol, CMMR 2013 Music Festival, Transitions Sonores (France), Dias da Musica Electroacustica (Portugal), Acusmatica Contemporanea (Italy), Prix Destellos 2015 (Argentina), RIME 2011 (Monaco).
